Sinister Isle

In collaboration with artist Nicole Thomasy, this work is a field recording solely comprised of audio of playground equipment and activity from my home town. The hand-drawn stills are to accompany the following narrative:

A venturous child has found a scene of an abandoned shipwreck and decides to explore. Faint sounds of children playing deep within the ship draw the child in. Upon further exploration, the sounds of children seem to disappear, only to be met by the harrowing yet captivating sounds of sirens. The child continues to close in on the peculiar sounds until the sirens reveal their true form. They leap out and begin an increasingly intensifying chase until ultimately, the child’s curiosity led them to their demise.
