About

From Skokie, Illinois, Jonah Sendlin (b. 2001) brings passion, excitement, and a story to all of his works. As a long time percussionist and electric bassist, Sendlin has found a deep rooted connection to rhythm, groove, and the foundations of harmonic support. Sendlin takes his adoration of these musical elements and meticulously weaves them into pieces that evoke a multitude of emotions. Sendlin received his bachelor's degree in Music Composition from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. There, he premiered countless works for concert band, jazz band, percussion ensemble, orchestra, chamber ensembles and more. Sendlin additionally partnered with the school’s Game Design department scoring originally created video games for senior and graduate students’ projects. He was also the first student in Bradley’s history to win the school’s Concerto and Aria Competition with an original composition (Concerto for Marimba)

When he is not writing music, Sendlin loves to play. Whether that be through sports and exercise, crosswords and sudoku, board games, video games, or even acting in a play, Sendlin loves to engage with the world and those who inhabit it. “All I want in life is to make people feel. I want to believe that what I am providing for the world, musically or otherwise, leaves a lasting emotional response for all who engage with what I have to offer.”

Sendlin is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) and is published with C. Alan Publications.
